Top 5 Reasons To Know Your Go-To Breakfast
Keep your morning choices FAST! Breakfast is the meal that gets you started for your busy day and will set you up for a successful day! Don't waste time in the morning! Know what you like, what you need, cook it, eat it and get on with your day! (Notice we are NOT skipping breakfast and you will not be all over your watch at 11 am with your body begging for food!).
Make your breakfast a NUTRITIOUS MEAL! Your breakfast should be a balance between Protein, Carbs, Fats (and never skip an opportunity for fiber too!) If you know your go-to options you will be able to eat a balanced breakfast everyday!
Eat what you LOVE! I want you to have a love affair with your food in the morning! Your breakfast should be a meal that you love! Love how it tastes and you will not only enjoy it, but you will look forward to eating it every day! (If you are second guessing this- maybe you need to find a better go-to breakfast option!)
LISTEN to your body! Your go-to breakfast works with your body. It doesn't bloat you, it doesn't give you gas, it fills you up, it keeps you energized, it keeps your blood sugars even and it holds you over for a few good hours! Your body loves and respects it as much as you do! (Listen to your body about how you feel after you eat!)
RINSE & REPEAT! Stop saying you will get bored! You will not get bored of eating the things that do all of the above 1-4. (Now go back and read reasons 1-4!) When you finally know what works for you, create 3 options for your go-to breakfasts and have them for 2 weeks. Let me know how you feel after that. Then if you feel great and it's all working for you.... Keep it up! I would bet that you will be sticking to your go-to breakfast options from here out and never be bored! Just try it!
Here is my go-to breakfast :
Chocolate Protein Shake (mix with water 25g protein)
1/2 Cup oatmeal (the fast minute kind I make by adding water)
Sprinkle or more of cinnamon (or pumpkin spice if I am in the mood)
1 Tbs Peanut butter (nothing fancy- creamy Jiff)
1/2 - 1 Cup Blueberries (or any berry I have in my fridge)
